inflammation (inflammatory response)
heat cause by increased blood flow as white blood cells are travelling to the site of infection. swelling increases blood and fluid in the area as white blood cells kill pathogenic microorganisms. swelling also localised infection redness due to increased blood flow and permeability of the capillaries.
Fever
core body temperature is rest to be greater than 37.2 degrees and the higher temperature kills pathogenic microorganisms. The increased temperature also trigger T cells.
Phagocytosis
white blood cells eat bacteria, viruses and dead/injured body cells.
Macrophages:
Macrophage means ‘big eater’. These cells ‘eat’ (ingest) or clean up the mess of dead cells
