Problems labels faced re: digital downloads

A

consumers began to prefer singles. There was no economical way to get them, so bought full albums to get 1-2 songs we really wanted. wanted album unbundled, but had no choice. With emergence of alternative distribution (Napster and iTunes years later), the latent demand for singles was unearthed and havoc ensued.
