Air pressure
the force exerted on a surface by the air above it as gravity pulls it to Earth.
Tropical
characteristic of a region or climate that is frost free with temperatures high enough to support year round plant growth given sufficient moisture.
Celsius
scale based on 0° for the freezing point of water and 100° for the boiling point of water.
Cumulus clouds
detached, individual, cauliflower-shaped clouds usually spotted in fair weather conditions.
Cirrus cloud
form from the ascent of dry air, making the small quantity of water vapour in the air undergo deposition into ice
Thermometer
an instrument that measures temperature
Tropical depression
forms when a low pressure area is accompanied by thunderstorms that produce a circular wind flow with maximum sustained winds below 39 mph.
Ocean current
the continuous, predictable, directional movement of seawater driven by gravity, wind (Coriolis Effect), and water density.
Dew point
the temperature the air needs to be cooled to (at constant pressure) in order to achieve a relative humidity (RH) of 100%.
Hurricane
a storm with a violent wind, in particular a tropical cyclone in the Caribbean.
Desert
arid land with usually sparse vegetation
Tyhpoon
a tropical cyclone with the maximum wind of 34 knots or higher.
Humidity
the amount of water vapor in the air.
Forcast
To estimate or predict in advance, especially to predict (weather conditions) by analysis of meteorological data
Atomosphere
a mixture of gases that surrounds the Earth.
