What does the term ‘discrimination’ mean?
Treating people less favourably because of their Ethnicity/Gender/Colour/Sexuality/Age/Class.
What does the term ‘community cohesion’ mean?
A common vision and shared sense of belonging for all groups in society
What does the term ‘Ethnic Minority’ mean?
A member of an ethnic group (race) which is much smaller than the minority group
What does the term ‘interfaith marriage’ mean?
Marriage where the husband or wife is from different religions.
What does the term ‘multi-ethnic society’ mean?
Many different races and cultures living together in one society

Many different religions living together in one society

Believing some people are superior or inferior to others.

The right to practise your religion and change your your religion

Different races/colours living together happily

The belief that some races are superior to others
What does the term ‘Religious pluralism’ mean?
Accepting all religions as having an equal right to coexist
What does the term ‘sexism’ mean?
Discriminating against people because of their gender (being male or female)
