Italian Immigrants (Push Factors)
Push Factors: The population boosted due to hygiene and medical improvements. Italy’s Food and Economy was too slow for the number of people.
Italian Immigrants (Pull Factors)
Pull Factors- Promised better economic opportunities and they hoped to send their families over when they had enough money—looking for places to display their works and products.
Slavic Immigrants
Slavics left because of Ethnic Discrimination in the Austro-Hungarian Empire
Chinese Immigrants
Chinese Immigrants reached California after word of the Gold Rush. Though they didn’t find much gold, they found work on railroads, working for families, opening restaurants, and making leather goods.
Emigrate
To permanently leave ones country

Ethnic Enclaves
Immigrants settled in diverse towns, facing language, and religion barriers together.
Settlement Houses
They started in the UK to help the poor. When Immigrants came to the US they were built there too. Provided shelter and helped people become “Americanized”
