Q

Why is DRAM Dynamic?

A

Needs constant refreshing, without refreshing the data in memory disapears

Q

What does Random Access mean in DRAM?

A

any storage location can be accessed directly at any time, unlike magnetic tapes

Q

Todays computers have Synchronous DRAM (SDRAM), why is it synchronous?

A

synchronized with the common system clock of the computer. Allows it to queue things up in a standard format. Queue up one process while waiting for another. Classic DRAM didn’t wait for a clock signal

Q

Multi-Channel memory

A

use of multiple modules of RAM to improve performance. More throughput with multiple memory modules than a single larger memory module
