When doing a lymph node exam, what lymph nodes should you pay special attention to?
A
Supraclavicular lymph nodes
- Need to palpate them above the clavicle
- This is a very common site for metastasis for breast cancer

What is Virchow’s node?
A
A LEFT supraclavicualr node that is inflamed
- Receives most of body’s lymphatic fluid via the thoracic duct
- Common site of lymphatic metastasis for many malignancies
REMEMBER –> LEFT side ***

What are the symptoms of thrombocytopenia?
A
- Epitaxis (nose bleed)
- Bleeding from the gums
- Petechiae
- Menorrhagia
- Excessive bleeding after trauma or surgery
Will NOT get thrush
