Describe a Warning sign and give an example.
A warning sign tells people to be careful of a particular hazard, e.g. (vehicle reversing).
The signs are triangular with a black pictogram on a yellow background with a black border.
Describe a Mandatory action sign and give an example.
Mandatory signs instruct people to take a specific action, often relating to wearing personal protection equipment, e.g. (Eye protection must be worn).
They are circular with a solid blue background and a white pictogram.
Describe a Safe condition sign and give an example.
Safe condition signs, identify safe behaviour or places of safety, e.g. (First Aid Station).
They are rectangular or square with a white pictogram on a green background.
Describe a Fire-fighting equipment sign and give an example.
Fire-fighting equipment signs, identify particular items of equipment, e.g. (Hose reels).
They are rectangular or square with a white symbol or pictogram on a red background.
Describe a Prohibition sign and give an example.
A prohibition sign is directed at stopping a dangerous behaviour, e.g. (No smoking)
The signs are circular with a black pictograms on a white background with a red border and a red diagonal cross bar.
