3 Types Of Muscle Tissue Flashcards
1
Q
Smooth muscle tissue.
A
Surrounds bodies internal organs, contracts slower than skeletal muscle but remain contracted for a longer time. (Stomach lining and esophagus).
2
Q
Cardiac muscle tissue.
A
Found in only the heart, responsible for creating that action that pumps blood the heart to the rest of the body. Not contracted consciously.
3
Q
Skeletal muscle tissue.
A
Attached to the bone by tendons and other tissues. Makes up 30-40% of body weight. Conscious control over these muscles, muscle tissue referred to as striped.
4
Q
Muscoskelatal system:
A
- Body’s bones, skeletal muscle, and connective tissue that binds them together.
- Fibre connects to bones directly through tough tissue fibres.
- Bound together tightly through ligaments.
- Cartilage tissue at ends of bones.
