- 10mls with 2tsp water
- 2 mins rinsing
- 2x daily
- don’t eat or drink for 30 mins after
- DO NOT SWALLOW (or systemic effects)
- don’t rinse after use
Instructions for beclomethasone metered dose inhaler for unlicenced use?
(puff device) - nb MUST be a pressurised device, not breath activated
- position device correctly (exit vent directly over ulcer area)
- 2 puffs
- 2-4x daily
- don’t rinse after use
What different types of systemic treatment can you give + examples
only a specialist
- Disease modulators e.g. colchincine
- Steroids e.g. prednisolone
- Immune suppressants e.g. hydroxychloroquine (mainly for lichen planus)
- Immunotherapy e.g. adalimumab
What are the risks of systemic steroids if prolonged course? (4)
- adrenal suppression
- osteoporosis risk
- peptic ulcer risk
- mood/sleep alteration and mania/ depression risk
