3. Steganography Flashcards
1
Q
what is steganography
A
hiding in plain sight
- attacker does not know something is hidden there
- payload: what you want to hide
- cover object: what you want to hide in
- stego object: the resultant object with hidden payload
2
Q
difference between steganography and cryptography
A
stego: hides presence, not encrypted, attacker cannot see
crypto: encrypted, attacker can see
3
Q
how does steganography work
A
least significant bit algorithm
4
Q
what is steganalysis
A
- detect
- check for distortions
- black white filtering
- if RGB value is 254, remain the same
- if RBG value is 253, set to 0, changed to white - extract
