A
  • anacrusis - note just before music begins
  • scotch snap - du druum (A very short accented note before a longer note)
  • 3 against 2 - one part divides melody into 2 while another divides it into 3
  • cross rhythms - Contrasting rhythms played at the same time.
  • dotted rhythms - A long note followed by a short one or a short note followed by a long note.
