Q

describe fertilisation in flowering plants

A

pollen grain lands on the stigma and a pollen tube grows down through the style, the nucleus of the pollen grain passes down the pollen tube to fertilise the ovule (egg)

the top of the pollen tube bursts and 2 haploid gametes enter sac - gametes fuse to form zygote (seed) and ovary wall becomes fruit
