Q

Why is the time taken for sulfur to reach a certain concentration only relevant?

A

There is always the same amount of sulfur produced. Therefor the change in concentration of sulfur is the same for each experiment.

Q

Describe the method of this experiement.

A

1) Measure 10cm^3 of 0.2M Hcl and 10cm^3 of 2Na2S2O3 in separate clean measuring cylinders. Put solutions in separate boiling tubes
2) choose temp to investigate and use water bath to get solutions to that temperature.
3) place flask on top of a large cross and add 2Na2S2O3 first then Hcl solutions.
4) Start the stopwatch and note time of when cross disappears.
5) Repeat experiment 4 times for 4 more different temps.
