The process of changing an input ( ingredients ) into a product that is sold
What is job production
A method of production where the product supplied is exactly how the customer wants

When an item moves continously through one stage of process from another ( the same item one product e.g vanilla ice cream )
What is specialisation
When a induvidual people focus on a limited amount of tasks in work
What is lean production
Production that tries to minimise waste
What is kaizen
Continous improvement towards production in many small steps
What is just in time production
The business only makes what is ordered and so uses little to no storage
What is the breaking point
The point past the total costs into profit
What is procurement
Is selecting suppliers and negotiating a contract for materials
What is the supply chain
All the businesses, people and activities that take place to get a product to a customer
What are logistics
The movement of goods, services and information and money through the production process
How to measure quality problems
Customers can complete surveys
Mystery visitors can test the product in secret and staff can be asked about the quality
What are the consequences of quality problems
Replacing goods, customers not satisfied and waste
How to keep consistent quality
Make sure suppliers are reliable, staff training and good equipment
