Q

if patient can’t perform stress test with exercise due to disability or whatnot, what can u do to induce “stress”? (2 options, also contraindications for each)

A

adenosine/dipyramidole.
they will dilate coronary arteries. but stenosed aa won’t be as dilated. will see the difference in blood flow on nuclear test.
but don’t use if they’re already on dipyramidole or theophylline, or have reactive airway disease.

Dobutamine stress echo. this increases HR so don’t use for tachyarrythmias.
