Assassination

A

Even with his hand full of body guards that are armed including the sawed off shotgun and his own personal revolver he was still shot in the skyscraper capital building in Baton Rouge. He even said “I’m a cinch to get shot.” Was shot 8 September 1935 by Carl Weiss and died on 10 September.

Long pursed power while he angered many of the upper class powerful Louisiana’s. As he passed his enemy it would often end in a fiscal fight. He powered over his enemies but that would come to an end with his assassination.

Huey Long was so hated by his enemies that they would often try and attack him. In 1927 he got into a fist fight in the lobby with a Virginia lobbyists. Hated for raising tax on corporations. Also, helped lower populations.

A

Stormy style that landed him in fight after fight. Started battles in Shreveport and moved up. He was ready to deploy force on anti- longist that tried to riot on the capital.
