  • a carbon footprint is a measure of how each persons activities effect the environment
  • it measures the greenhouse gases produced
  • measure units = carbon dioxide (Co2)

  • agreement for countries to reduce greenhouse gas emissions
  • Ireland signed in 2002 (all eu countries signed)
  • shows that undeveloped countries are willing to make changes to protect the worlds climate

Copenhagen accord

  • December 2009
  • world leaders meet to discuss climate change
  • accord states that climate change is an on going problem and countries must make a conscience effort to keep temperature increase to 2 degrees
  • results were disappointing as accord was not agreed by all countries
