What is a ratio?
A comparison of two quantities

divide the numerator by the denominator

You move the decimal two places to the right
What is an integer?
Whole numbers and their opposites.
Can integers be fractions or decimals?
NO
What is absolute value?
The distance from zero. ALWAYS positive.
What is the opposite of an integer?
The same distance from zero on the opposite side on the numberline.
When adding or subtraction fractions you must find what?
A common denominator
Answers in fractions must always be written how?
In the simplest form
When multiplying mixed numbers you must do what?
Turn them into improper fractions.
Then you multiply the numerator and multiply the denominators
What is the order of operations?
PEMDAS or GEMS
When looking at multiplication and division you always work from what direction?
Left to right
