A
where the researcher and reviewers know each other, it is believed to reduce plagiarism, but there are concerns that criticisms would be watered down

- prevent fraud: helps reduce scientific fraud,

when negative findings are not reported, as they are deemed statistically insignificant

- anonymity: could mean that reviewers are too harsh due to their anonymity
- Publication Bias: personal opinion could influence the peer review, reducing the validity
- Burying Ground-breaking research: it could oppress opposition from mainstream theories which will stop new theories that may be correct from forming
