Federal laws cannot deny people of their rights

Reserved powers to the states
11th Amendment
Citizens cannot sue state were they do not reside.
Foreign countries cannot sue us.
12th Amendment
Electoral college- President and VP on separate ballots.
If no majority in the college, house chooses President.
If the house can’t choose the current VP becomes president.
If no majority for VP then Senate chooses VP. No one, not allowed to be president, can be VP.
13th Amendment
Abolishment of slavery.
Congress enforces this amendment.
14th Amendment
States cannot refuse a citizen their rights, life, liberty, or property.
Confederates cannot hold public office.
Congress enforces this amendment.
15th Amendment
Black Suffrage
Congress enforces this amendment.
