1st amendment (F = First)
Protects the rights of individual citizens to keep and bear arms. Establishes a militia that is necessary for a free state.
2nd amendment (bear arms = 2 words)
Prohibits 3 soldiers from temporarily residing (quartering) in private homes during peacetime without getting permission and consent of the owner
3rd amendment (3 soldiers = 3rd amendment)
Protects peoples right to privacy, prohibits unreasonable searches and seizures by the government.
4th amendment ( government going for a search = 4 words = 4th amendment)
No person tried without the grand jury indictment or punished twice for the same offense. Prohibits being a witness to yourself and guarantees “due process of law”
5th amendment ( Prohibits being a witness to yourself = 5 words)
Rights of accused in criminal cases, including legal representation and a fair and speedy trial
6th amendment
Guarantees and trial by jury
7th amendment (trial by = 7 letters = 7th amendment
Insures that punishments for crimes are not excessive, cruel, or unusual
8th amendment
People retain rights not listed in the united states constitution

Power not given to the federal government is given to the people or states.

Individual cannot sue a state in federal courts
