Primary Succession
A
Starts with bare rock
Pioneer species, like lichens, will then begin to transform the rocks into soil. As there is more and more soil, plants will begin to colonize in the area. As the amount of nutrients grow, more species will inhabit the area.

Secondary Succession
A
Starts with soil already existing
Similar to primary succession as pioneer species will continue to develop the area to become more habitable for larger species.
