What does the 25th amendment do?
Deals with the transfer of presidential power when the president is unable to perform the duties of the office
What does the 25th establish?
- procedure by which a president can declare themselves unable to discharge the powers and duties of the office
- order of the succession to the office of the president

Vacancy in offices of both president and vice president
If by reason of death, resignation, removal from office, inability, or failure to qualify, there is neither a president nor vice president…then the speaker of the house of representatives shall act as president
Section 1
In case of removal of the President from office or of his death or resignation, the VP shall become president
Section 2
Whenever there is a vacancy in the office of VP, the president shall nominate a VP who shall take office upon confirmation by a majority vote of both Houses of Congress
Section 3
Whenever the President transmits to the President pro tempore of the senate and the speaker of hr cant fulfill duties and writes it in aw written declaration such powers shall be discharged by the VP as acting P
Section 4
President is not capable or will not transfer power to VP can be implemented only by the VP and majority of cabinet or body that congress can provide
