Intrusive igneous rock
Rock formed from the cooling and solidification of magma beneath the Earth’s surface
Extrusive igneous rock
Rock that forms as a result of volcanic at or near the Earth’s surface
Felsic Rock
The light-colored rocks are rich in elements such as aluminum, potassium, Silicon and sodium
Mafic rock
Mafic rocks are rich in calcium, iron, magnesium and potassium
Volcano neck
A volcano neck forms when a dike or stock is exposed to the surface. The rock around it erodes away and only the igneous rock is left behind
