event, the original transporting officer (will/will not be) required to return to the facility to affect an arrest or otherwise remove the individual from the facility.

Upon encountering in a public place or having brought to their attention an intoxicated juvenile who does not appear incapacitated or a danger to himself or others, officers shall: (4)
(1) Attempt to contact a parent or guardian for release;
(2) Transport the juvenile to New Beginnings, 555 Stockton Street;
(3) Officers will complete an admission information report at the center. After a cursory nursing exam to rule out the need for emergency medical care, the officer will be back in service; and
(4) The officer shall contact a parent, legal guardian, or responsible adult after placement. If the child has signed a release form, the facility will notify the
appropriate party.
Upon encountering in a public place or having brought to their attention an intoxicated juvenile who appears to be incapacitated or is a danger to himself or others, officers will: (2)
(1) Prior to placing the individual in the police vehicle, follow proper search techniques;
(2) Notify a parent, legal guardian, or responsible adult, if possible. Officers shall make every reasonable effort to contact a suitable person to whom the juvenile can be released. If an officer is unable to locate a suitable person, the juvenile shall be transported to New Beginnings facility as mentioned in 3, a and b above. Officers shall note in the Juvenile Arrest & Booking Report their efforts to contact a responsible person for the child.
Juveniles who are intoxicated and whose conduct meets the criteria of F.S.S. 856.011 (Disorderly Intoxication) (may/may not) be detained and charged.
