What are the roles of marketing?
•identify and understand customer needs
•informing customers
•increasing sales
why must a business understand customer needs?
A business must be clear on who it is selling it’s products or services to as this will influence how a business is marketed
How can customers be informed by the business about their products or service?
•customers must be informed about the products and services the business is selling, this is usually done through advertising e.g. TV, radio, magazines, social media
•advertising can be very expensive and will differ greatly between small and large businesses
How can marketing increase sales?(5)
*more advertising raises more awareness
*introducing a new model that appeals to more people and increasing the range of products can increase sales
*reducing price will make extra profit if extra customers are gained
*selling in different places targets a wider range if customers
*using different methods to see (digital or physical) may attract more customers
What is marketing?
The management process responsible for identifying, anticipating and satisfying customer requirements profitably
