Q

How does dissolving happen?

A

The particles in water are sliding past one another. They bump into the vibrating particles of the sugar, which separates the groups of sugar and the sugar is mixed into the water.

Q

Why is the mass of the solute conserved when it mixes with a solvent to form a solution?

A

When the salt dissolves in the water, it doesn’t disappear and is still in the water although it cannot be seen.
