2.1 Data Collection and Presentation Flashcards
What are the two types of sampling?
- Non-Probability Sampling
- Probability Sampling
This type of sampling is done by selecting a group of people for studying.
Convenience
The kind of sampling that is based on the researcher’s judgment.
Purposive
Sampling where the researcher collects information from a set number of participants.
Quota
In this type of sampling, one or more members of a population are located and used to lead researchers to other members.
Snowball
A simple sampling method where you take random numbers from a population.
Simple Random
A sampling process where you take the kth element in the population.
Systematic
A type of sampling where you subdivide the population into subgroups or strata.
Stratified
A kind of sampling where you select clusters from a population that is widely spread out over a wide geographic area.
