4
Q

Understand the connection between globalization and human trafficking / slavery.

A

When demand is so high for products and there aren’t many workers, the companies take advantage of the workers by forcing them to work longer than their intended hours(against their will/ aka slavery). This affects the global economy positively though, since supply is less likely to run out, thus leading to more products being sold.
also, since some countries depend on other countries so much for their products, they’ll ignore the inhumane things that they’ve done fo their workers and in general(China), so that they can still be provided with their cheap products, which can be sold for more in their country(US).

Q

Explain how Hollywood has been impacted by globalization.

A

Because western movies are so popular all around the world, the People who made the movies will get a lot of money, even if their movie flops in the US. And since there’s not a wide variety of movies that people can watch in china, for example, they’re going to be more eager to watch only those movies, causing them to profit even more.
