区别：
accommodation 更加泛指”人住的地方“，可以用来说自己学生时代的宿舍，也可以用来说出去旅游的住处；在美国，其复数形式 accommodations 表示“住处”用得更多。
lodging 本身更多强调两点，“短期/临时”和“租”。
例句：There’s a shortage of cheap accommodation(s). 便宜的住宿资源上有缺口。
He was given free lodging. 他得到了免费住处。
amenity (n.)
休闲设施
facility (n.)
设施
区别：
amenity 和 facility 都带有“设施”的意思，但是 facility 的适用范围更广，泛指一切公共设施、机构等，包括 amenity 这一“便利、休闲设施”类目。同时，amenity 多用于描述宾馆内的设施。
例句：The hotel amenities include health clubs, conference facilities, and banqueting rooms. 饭店的便利设施包括健身俱乐部、会议设施和宴会厅。

青年旅舍
inn (n.)
小旅馆
hostel 和 inn，一个是“青年旅舍”，一个是“乡村小旅社”，相比 hotel “酒店、宾馆”都有一个共同的特点，就是规模不大，价格不贵。
hostel 更像是多人共享一间大房，睡着上下铺的“国际青年旅社”，受众都非常年轻，价格很便宜，也能认识天南海北的旅客，不过在隐私性和舒适度上会差一些。Hostel 同名美国惊悚电影，译作《人皮客栈》。
inn 像是在乡村路边见到的小旅社、小客栈。

在送上迟到的祝福时，我们可以用上 belated 这个词，比如我们刚错过了朋友的生日，我们就可以对刚过生日的朋友说：Belated happy birthday! 注意 Happy belated birthday 这个说法在美国也很平常，但是逻辑上 Belated happy birthday 更说得通。
例句：I’m preparing for her a belated birthday present. 我在给她准备一份迟到的生日礼物
