- Run jobs on a remote computer with the required application software
- Access data archives stored in a remote computer
- Transmit messages electronically to a user on a remote computer

Name
3 benefits of connecting PCs in a LAN
- Saves the expenses on installing appilcation software on each individual PC by installing it on an application server attached to the LAN
- Allows users to store large files and share them between users through a file server attached to LAN
- Uses Electronic mail to communicate with staff rather than sending round memos on paper

Describe
The client server model
It was first used in large organizations within internal networks and now uses a web browser as the client and a web server hosted on to the internet as the server
Difference between thin clients and thick clients
Thin clients run applications on the server and send input data to the server, while thick clients may carry out processing before and after running the application on the server, or download and run the application locally
What are the benefits of choosing the client-server approach?
- Can store a database
- Can access a web application
