A way of speaking or writing that makes something sound better, more exciting, more dangerous etc. than it really is

- (sometimes disapproving) Not liking this to be dirty or untidy

An indirect word or phrase that people often use to refer to something embarrassing or unpleasant, sometimes to make it seems more acceptable that it really is.
