Where is the telencephalon located?
The most anterior part of the brain
Where is the diencephalon located?
Situated between the telencephalon and the midbrain.
Where is the mesencephalon (midbrain) located?
Located between the diencephalon and the metencephalon.
Where is the metencephalon located?
Located just behind the mesencephalon
Where is the myelencephalon located?
AKA Medulla oblongata, is located at the most posterior part of the brainstem, continuous with the spinal cord
Where is the brachial plexus found in the spinal nerves? How about in specific species?
- Last 3-4 cervical vertebrae
- First 1-2 thoracic nerves
SPECIFIC:
1. Last 3 cervical vertebrae
2. First 2 thoracic nerves
Where is the lumbarsacral plexus found in the spinal nerves
- Last few lumbar
- First few sacral nerves
THIS ONE IS MORE VARIABLE BY SPECIES
Where do the cervical nerves 1-8 emerge?
Small openings between the foramina between their respective cervical vertebrae
Ex) Nerve 2 emerges between the first and second cervical vertebrae
