Log in and Landing Pages
We shall look at:
- Landing Pages,
- Role based process maps, and
- Customizing a Landing Page.
Access and Log in
Your System Administrator will provide you with Log in information and let you know how to access Sage X3 from your Computer.
Sage X3 is browser ignostic, so you can use any browser to access and run the application.
After you connect to Sage X3 the log in Screen displays.
Enter the following details:
Sage ID: eg
Sageuser
Password: eg
Sage
Remember me on this computer box allows you to save the password for 4 weeks for that Laptop or computer by putting a tick in the box.
Can reset a password by clicking on:
Forgot your password?
Click on Sign in, to Log in.
Your Sage ID can be the email address that you used to register.
Landing Pages
When you log into Sage X3, the first page you see is your default Landing Page.
Your default Landing page is based on your role and responsibilities in the system and it is set by your System Administrator.
The Landing page is a kind of a Dashboard that is the starting point for the program.
It displays information that is related to your roles and job tasks.
From here you can view other Landing pages that may be available to you.
View, Process maps navigate to functions and create a custom Landing page.
Let’s explore a Landing page for a Stock Manager.
Landing Page details.
1) You can add to the task bar functions the left, functions that you use frequently.
2) This left panel ie System tree, lists the Landing pages that you can access. Eg.
- Product design,
- Warehouse Manager,
- Planning Manager, etc
3) On top is the Role for the Landing page eg. Stock Manager.
4) On Top to the right of the Role is your User Name and your Sage X3 System Role and the name of your Database eg. Prince Tambwanaye, Customer Administrator and SEEDP24.
5) On top On the far left where there is a search key are icons for:
- Accessing help,
- Add functions to the Taskbar,
- Open the Navigation page.
- Search for Data and Functions.
6) The center panel ie work area includes the widgets defined for this role.
They display information helpful to the Role.
You can click on the records to access details.

Business Process Tab
Click on the Business Process Tab in order to see a Process map for the Stock Manager which includes tasks that they may need to complete.
Process Map
You can access a Process Map by clicking on the function in your task bar on the left, Business Process on top. Let’s say as a Stock Manager you want to access Shipments.
You click on Outgoing Stock in the Center panel or area under the Stock Manager Menu, and then you will select Shipments.
Shipments Process Map
The Process Map for Shipments displays.
It shows all of the functions that are associated with Shipments:
1) Shipments:
- Deliveries for current day.
- Deliveries
- Delivery lines
2) Prepare:
- Shipments
- Auto Deliveries
- Picking Tickets
- Pick Tickets portrait
3) Pack:
- Packing by pack
- Packing by line
- Parcel labels
4) Deliver:
- Shipments
- Shipment validation
- Delivery Note 1
- Delivery Note 2
5) Parcel Content/ Movement:
- Parcel Content.
- Deliveries
- Packing.
Creating the Delivery Note prepares the Shipment.
The movements are then carried out once the Delivery Note has been validated.
Function Access
To add a function that you regularly use to your Task Bar, click on the star icon on top on the far right of the System menu. Eg,
- You can add Delivery Inquiry function to your task bar menu.
Closing Pages
As you can see, the Delivery Inquiry option is now available on the Task bar. To exist this function and return to the previous page, select the Close page icon on the right hand top side.
It’s important to use the Close page icon instead of the back button browser.
If you use the Back button on your browser, the page stays open in the background and this can cause function processing issues.
Sage Logo Functionality
To return to your home Landing page and and close any open windows at any time select the Sage X3 logo in the upper left hand corner.
My Landing Pages
Landing pages such as the one created for the Stock Manager are created by Administrators and assigned to users based on their responsibilities.
You can not make changes to these Landing pages.
However you can create your own personal Landing pages.
Maybe you want a very simple page that displays only Shipping functions.
Let’s take a look at how to do that.
1) Start by selecting the New option from the left panel or task bar under the My Landing Pages option.

- Put your Page name without spaces under the Page Name, eg.
MyStockLandingPage - Put the Title under the Title box and you can use spaces in this box eg,
My Stock Manager Page.
Leave unchecked the:
Use current endpoint, if you want this page to be accessible from all available Databases, and then click on OK.
Personal Landing Page Customization or design. 2. Add New Gadgets - Processes.
Here you can choose the gadgets that you want to display on your personal Landing pages such as the:
Graphs, Charts, Processes or Calendars.
For this exercise let’s Add a Processes to the page.
So select the Processes icon and then click on OK to save.

Click on Stock under the Module, Process and then OK.

For the Category, Select on Categories, and then select Shipments.
