What were Wilson’s rules in the League of Nations?
- All the major nations to join
- All disarm
- If they had a dispute with another country, they would take it to the League
- Promised to accept the decisions made
- Protect one another if invaded
- If a member did break the covenant and go to war, other members would stop trading with them and sent troops if necessary to stop fighting
What were the aims of the League?
- To discourage aggression from any nation
- To encourage countries to cooperate, especially in business and trade
- To encourage nations to disarm
- To improve the living and working conditions of people in all parts of the world

France, Britain, Italy and Japan
Why were France and Britain poor countries to be the main leaders of the League?
Because they weren’t as strong as they used to be, they were weakened by the war.

An Italian general called Tellini was supervising the border between Greece and Albania
While surveying the Greek side, he was killed
Mussolini was furious and blamed Greece
On the 31st of August Mussolini bombarded then occupied Corfu
Fifteen people were killed
How did the League of Nations get involved in the Corfue dispute?
Greece reached out for help
Firstly, they punished Italy, but then Mussolini didn’t like that.
France and Britain disagreed, but ended up making Greece pay compensation and apologize in order to get back Corfu
What was the Geneva protocol?
France and Britain decided that if two countries in the League dispute, they ask for the Council to help and accept this decision.
