Q
Temp profile of chimney discharging smoke, Langrangian and Eulerian descriptions of temp profile
A
- By having a temp sensor that follows the movement of a particular fluid particle with time, the use of many such temperature sensors moving with various fluid particles would provide the temp of these particles as a function of time. This is Langrangian, measures diffusive effects.
- By having a temp sensor at a fixed position in space, which measures the temperature at that position as a function of time; the use of many temp sensors fixed at various positions would provide the temp field. This gives the Eulerian description of the temperature field. Measures diffusive and convective effects.
