  1. Fibrous joints: immovable and have no joint cavity. Example- structures between skull bones
  2. Cartilaginous joints: partially moveable, with no joint cavity. Example intervertebral discs and the pubic symphysis
  3. Synovial Joints: freely moveable, with joint cavity. Example. The shoulder and hip joint
