A

life threatening ventricular and supraventricular dysrhythmias (SVD), frequently atrial fibrillation

150mg over 10 min pt with pulse
300mg pt without pulse IVP

Pedi 5 mg/kg IV/IO, then 15 mg/kg/day

Atropine

A

hemodynamically significant bradycardia, bradyasystolic arrest, organophasphate poisoning

symptomatic bradycardia: 0.5mg-1mg IV/IO ET. repeat every 3-5 min to 3 mg

pedi: 0.02 mg/kg IV, 0.04 mg/kg ET, may repeat in 5 min up to 1 mg

benzocaine spray (hurricane spray)

A

lubricate & topical anesthetic to facilitate passage of diagnostic and treatment devices. Suppress pharyngeal and tracheal gag reflex

0.5-1 sec spray, repeat as needed
PEDI: 0.25-0.5 sec spray, repeat as needed
