You use “al” when you combine “to + the” a + el” (do not combine with la)
**Yo voy AL (a el) parque I go to the house - Yo voy A LA casa

You use “del” when you combine “de” + “el”

  • *if you use de before la, then all is well, forget about it. No worries.
  • *if you use de before el then you must convert it to del
