2-2 Managing an Unconscious Casualty Flashcards
1
Q
What is the initial management of an Unconcious casualty?
A
Follow DRSABC. An unconscious casualty airway can become narrowed/blocked - often as a result of muscular control being lost, which allows the tongue to fall back and block the airway. Never leave an Unconcious casualty alone without a protected airway.

Q
Removal of clothing
A
The removal of clothing may be necessary if a wound or injury lies beneath and needs attention. When removing shoes, undo the laces and loosen the shoe, then pull the shoe off from the heel. When cutting clothes, use shears and cur along the seam if possible.
