CAPACITOR FUNCTION
Capacitors are primarily installed to correct the power factor of the distribution circuit
CONVERSION BANK PURPOSE
Conversion banks are 7970-2400 V step-down transformers connected wye-wye, used to
source 4-kV load using 13.8 kV circuits. The intended uses for conversion banks are:
A. A temporary fix to relieve overloads and/or add backup capacity for the 4-kV
circuits or other conversion banks.
B. A temporary 4-kV source when converting to 13.8 kV to reduce the amount of
immediate conversion work.
C. A permanent service transformer for 4-kV primary-metered customers.
ARRESTER PURPOSE
Arresters are used to protect power lines and equipment from momentary overvoltages.

to company for the erection, maintenance, repair, replacement, and removal for use of all distribution
facilities necessary or convenient for the supplying of electric service to the customer. It is the
responsibility of the customer to provide such easements and rights-of-way
