1st 10 Flashcards
what influences how we move?
personal factors
environmental factors
the task or activity
give one example of a personal, enrvironmental, and task specific factor the will influence how you move while performing a chore, sport, or other activity
discribe your demands the physical activities you need or want to perofrm each day
list two ways in which you could increase your activity to handle your demands better
PERSONAL- When you shoot a freethrow in basketball, your effort, physical ability, attributes, and confidence will determine how successful and accurate the shot will be.
ENVIROMENTAL- When you are trying to pitch the ball in baseball the weather could affect the outcome because it may be hot or cold out and/or raining, and windy. These will affect how accurate the pitch will be.
TASK-SPECIFIC- if you are throwing a football task-specific factors could be how inflated the ball is and the size/weight of the ball can affect the outcome of the throw as well as how you move
-working out
-walking dog
-playing sports
-swimming
-Make a routine you do daily
-warm up
-stretch
what are the seven key features
knees in line with feet and hips
body weight centered over mid-foot
normal low back curvature (avoid rounding and arching)
(avoid bending sideways, the shoulders and hips remain parallel)
shoulders and hips remain together
shoulders down and away from the ears
shoulders back (elbow and shoulders move in the same direction)
what are the fundamental movement patterns
give an everyday example that involve each movement pattern
push
pull
squat
lunge
hinge
hinge movement pattern is also known as
hip hinge pattern
what are the stages of learning a skill
blank is the understanding the basics of the skill in question
blank is the refining the skill by learning from your mistakes
blank is perofrming the skill as though its autonomic
cognitive
associative
autonomic
types of movement skills
blank skills involve the body balancing in one place
blank skills involve the body moving in any direction (e.g walkig, running, jumping etc)
blank skills include throwing and catching skills or skill related to striking with the hands, the feet, or an implement (e.g kicking, volleyball, batting, and dribling)
balance (static or dynamic balance)
locomotion
manipulation
what are the phases of a movement skill
preparation phase
force production phase
critical instant phase
recovery and follow-through phase
what are the three stages of skill acquisition? describe each stage with reference to learning a new movement skill
Stage 1: Cognitive Stage.
Stage 2: Associative Stage.
Stage 3: Autonomous Stage
gatheringinfo
putting actions together
much time and practice
among other things, stability focus on these four factors
blank is the quantity of matter contained within an object or body
blank is an imaginary point around which an individual’s mass is concentrated
blank the supporting area beneath an object or body
blank is the position relative to the base of support as defined by the line of gravity
whole-body stability increases when?
mass
center of mass
base of support
position of the centre of mass
mass increases
