- America was able to loan money to allies like Britain and France, this helped to create obs in America and made businessmen rich.
- they lost fewer soldiers, benefited from this as they were not as destroyed as the country, USA led the world in manufacturing and producing goods.

over 500 banks had closed down since 1930 FDR introduced the emergency banking act. this closed all banks and had every single one inspected, only honest well-run banks with enough cash were allowed to reopen and the gov lent money to help others
