- No airforce
- Army limited to 100,000
- Navy limited to 15,000 with only 6 battleships and no submarines
- Rhineland demilitarised (ie. no German troops allowed in it)

Why did the rising fail?
- It was poorly organised
- Had little support
- The Army and the Freikorps opposed them
What happened to the leaders of the Spartacists?
They were murdered by the Freikorps
What did the government do about these murders?
There was an investigation but the guilty men were largely let off.
What was the long term effect of the rebellion?
- The communists were weakened
- There was massive distrust between the Communists and the Social Democrats which stopped them working together in the future to stop Hitler.
