  • Freikorps crushed the uprising
  • Rosa Luxembourg was murdered

Kapp Putsch

  • 12,00 Freikorps marched into Berlin in protest of being disbanded
  • The gorvenment fled for 4 days
  • Wolfgang Kapp took charge
  • Major protests against them, people wouldnt cooperate.
  • Wolfgang had to flee :(

November 8th 1923

A

Munich Putsch

  • Nazis had 55,000 members
  • Hitler prearranged a rebellion with Kahr and Lossow, (two nationalist polititions) but they backed out
  • 2000 men marched into the centre of Munich while Kahr was making a speech in the Beer Hall
  • At gunpoint, Hitler forced the two to agree to the rebellion but as soon as he let them leave they backed out
  • Next day 16 Nazis were killed in a squabble (hehe) with police and Hilter was arrested for treason

Hilter sentenced to 5 years in prison even though it should have been death. Judge was leniant. Also, Hitler used trial as a publicity tool. He became a nationalist hero.

  • He also agreed to loan German 800 million gold marks to kickstart their economy
