Teeth are shallow (oblong) and tooth tips are sharp
When measuring across multiple (3) teeth on a sprocket, how would you know you have excessive wear?
the distance between the teeth decrease
How do you check for a bent side frame?
Measure between the shaft of the roller on the left track and the shaft of the roller on the right side. Inside to Inside. SHOULD BE PARALELL
How can a wish bone alignment be corrected if the bushing is okay?
It must be machined
How are idlers adjusted for alignment?
With shims
What are two positions can a bearing block be mounted on an idler?
High or Low mount
What type of work is a dozzer doing if the idler block is in the high mount position?
Pulling work or ripper work
If a dozzer is doing mostly pushing work what position should the bearing block be in on an idler?
In the low mount position
When installing chains what must you be aware of for proper direction of track pads?
The bolt pattern allows the pad to go in one direction. Make sure the bolt patter allows the pads to be directed correctly.
How are ice lugs installed on a track pad?
Welded on
