Q
Why was the 1902 model course replaced?
A
- Military- it focused on preparation for war which was considered inappropriate.
- Boring- dull / repetitive or a more varied or broader approach was needed.
- Backward step- because it lowered the status of the subject.
- Dr George Newman (chief medical officer within board of education)- a more therapeutic approach was needed. Model Course did not consider health.
- Centralised- everyone did same thing at same time or
it had no individuality / creativity / group work.
