Q

what does selection pressure do

Q

what happens in natural selection?

A

when there is over production of a species offspring
there is intraspecific competition for the limited resources available
some will have alleles that are more favourable to the environment and will therefore survive. those best suited to the prevailing conditions.
Individuals will breed and will pass their favourable allele combination to offspring
Therefore different allele frequency from one generation to the next

Q

What happens with organisms with the selective advantage ?

A

the organisms with phenotypes providing selective advantage are more likely to produce more offspring and pass on their favourable alleles to the next generation
