What happened to Jews about 400 years after God established the covenant with Abraham?
They found themselves as slaves in Egypt
What did God tell Moses to do?
To approach the Egyptian pharaoh and ask him to release the Jews from slavery so they could return to Canaan, the promised Land
What did God do when the pharaoh refused?
Sent a number of plagues to Egypt, the final/worst being the death of every firstborn child in every Egyptian family - which persuaded the pharaoh to let them leave

Several thousand to 3 mill - God parted the Red Sea which they went through

What are the 10 commandments?
Number one - no other God but the One who is true
Don’t worship any other, that’s commandment two.
Number three- use the name of God only with respect
Number Four - on Sunday take a rest
We’re half way through with one that’s just for you - Listen to your mom and dad ‘cause what they say you gotta do
Number six don’t ever take somebody’s life
Seven feels like heaven but only with your husband or wife
Number eight is great along with number nine - don’t steal from others and don’t ever lie
And if your friend has something that you think is cool don’t ever wish that it was yours and that’s the final rule

God would be God of the Jews and protect them from harm, provided they obeyed his laws

Importance guidance on how to create a society where people had basic rights and were able to live in peace with each other
